600 grams of fresh fish in slices (clean)

300 grams of fresh (clean) shrimp

 300 milliliters of coconut milk

 ½ yellow pepper

 ½ red pepper

 3 cloves of garlic

 1 white onion sliced (large)

 1 ripe tomato

 1 lemon

 4 tablespoons of palm oil

 1 tablespoon of olive oil

white salt and pepper (to taste)

chili pepper or sweet pepper (optional)

 green smell (to taste)

How to make fish moqueca with shrimp in a clay pot:

Separate all the necessary ingredients for the execution of the recipe for moqueca with shrimp in the clay pot. The fish needs to be clean, without scales and cut into medium pieces. Shrimps need to be clean, shell free and head free. Set aside some unpeeled (but no heads) shrimp to finish the dish.

Tip: We prepare this moqueca with fresh hake fish, but you can substitute for other fish such as boyfriend, sea bass, dorado or any other that can be cooked in slices, keeping firm.

Season the fish with 2 cloves of garlic, salt, black pepper and the juice of half a lemon. Reserve.

Place a few slices of seedless pepper and onion in the clay pot, seasoning with salt and black pepper.

Tip: This layer of vegetables will protect against letting the fish stick to the bottom, keeping it firm after cooked. You can also prepare this moqueca recipe in the common pot, but it is preferable to use the clay pot to guarantee the characteristic flavor and cooking.

Place the fish slices in the clay pot and drizzle with olive oil, coconut milk and half the green scent.

Top with pepper slices, onion, tomato, palm oil and half a lemon. If you want a moqueca with a spicier flavor, include the pepper scent or minced girl's finger along with the spices. Marinate the fish in this seasoning for about 20 minutes.

Tip: If you don't want to add the palm oil, add paprika (annatto) to the recipe to make it look orange, typical of moqueca.

Turn on medium heat and leave the pan half covered. Cook the fish for about 15 to 20 minutes from the time it starts to boil. Then add the shelled shrimp inside the moqueca, without touching the fish, just placing them carefully on top.

Now place the shelled shrimp, as in the photo, and let it cook for another 5 to 7 minutes. Season with more salt, black pepper and lemon and leave the pan half covered during this time.

Turn off the heat and, before serving, add a little more green scent to make the moqueca very colorful!

Your fish moqueca with shrimp cooked in a clay pot is ready to be served! Very easy and quick to prepare, as you saw! We suggest you serve this dish with white rice, mush or palm oil farofa and we hope you enjoy the recipe. Enjoy your food!
